The ferrocerium rod is replaceable too, so you won’t need to discard the fireROD when the rod is worn out (though it’s good for thousands of strikes). There’s also a built-in tinder compartment hidden inside the rod’s anodised aluminium body, allowing you to keep a stash of dry tinder handy at all times.
