Premium version of Sea to Summit’s lightweight Spark bag

The Spark range of sleeping bags from Sea to Summit are designed for fleet-footed adventures where every gram counts – and the big upgrade on the Spark Pro is the quality of the down fill. The Pro uses absolute crème-de-la-crème 950 fill power goose down, making it a good deal warmer than the standard Spark for very little extra weight. A lower limit of -2° for a 619g bag is pretty sweet, wouldn’t you say? As you'd expect from a bag this light, they've gone for a tailored mummy fit that makes the most efficient use of your natural body heat, and they've stuffed extra fill in the hood for comfort where it counts. Another perk of the Pro model is an enhanced zip system, with two extra zips to help with ventilation. Where normal down sleeping bags can be quite vulnerable to moisture, the goose down filling in the Spark has been specially treated to make it insulate better when wet – and dry out much more quickly – plus the vulnerable hood and footbox areas are reinforced with a breathable waterproof shell. Take that, tent condensation

    • Ethically Sourced Materials: The RDS certifies down against animal welfare requirements and tracks it from the source to the final product. The purchase of RDS certified products demonstrates demand for better animal welfare practices in the down and feather supply chain. Sea to Summit is certified to the RDS.
    • Sustainability through longevity: Sea to Summit designs and builds gear that is meant to be put to the test, wherever your adventures take you. Sea to Summit guarantee this product against defects in materials or workmanship for the expected lifetime of the product.
  • What is it that attracts us to the idea of adventure? For Sea to Summit, it’s about freedom and self-reliance – the ability not just to survive, but to thrive in any environment. But although the brand takes its gear seriously, it does so with trademark Aussie humour and blunt, no bullsh*t candour. That’s the way it’s always been, ever since founder Roland Tyson made his first outdoor gear on an old industrial sewing machine in his childhood bedroom back in 1983, at the age of 17. Soon he was designing and manufacturing equipment for other Australian adventurers – and in 1991, he outfitted an unusual first ascent of Everest, in the form of a 1,126 kilometre journey from sea level to the mountain’s 8,848-metre summit. The name Sea to Summit was born.

In 1993, Roland was joined by Penny Sanderson, another Aussie explorer and innovator. Their designs were honed on their adventures, as they spent months climbing, sailing, trekking, overlanding and biking. Nearly thirty years later, Sea to Summit is still 100% Aussie owned and operated, and still putting painstakingly designed gear into the hands of customers worldwide.
