In our minds, this is the kind of insulated bomber jacket a small-town Cessna pilot circa 1989 might have kept on a hook by the door. Stuffed with 650-fill duck down, it's lovely and warm on its own, though it's also light enough to layer up well under a heavier shell. Style-wise, the rounded rib-knit collar and cuffs give it more than a hint of the classic MA1 flight jacket, while the dropped back hem and boxy cut have their roots in hard-grafting American workwear. They've hit the sturdy cotton shell with Filson's own vintage-inspired garment wash, so it looks like an old veteran straight out of the box.
