Quilt and mat setups have been gaining traction over traditional sleeping bags for years now – and this is Snow Peak's take, crossing modern quilt design with the comfort of a traditional Japanese futon. The Ofuton system is a lightweight down comforter and mat that work together for a super-cosy bed setup – no mummy-bag claustrophobia, no thrashing about like a caterpillar at 3am. The comforter clips to the mat at six points so it stays put through the night, adjustable side flaps tuck underneath for extra warmth, and a drawstring closure at the top keeps you toasty when the temperature drops. This is the wider mat version – with noticeably more elbow room. Perfect for the campsite, but so comfy that you might end up putting house guests on it.

Snow Peak's journey began in 1958, when the founder Yukio Yamai, an accomplished mountaineer, created his own line of superior climbing gear. Snow Peak then looked to evolve by shifting its focus from the mountaineering equipment of the past to the camping equipment of the future. Fueled by the booming national interest in auto-camping sweeping across Japan, Snow Peak released a series of radically innovative products which focused on quality, functionality, timeless-durability and considered design.
